A graduate of Indiana University, Kirby began his career as a history teacher, working first with court-appointed youth and later in the Indianapolis Public School system. These early teaching experiences refined his ability to engage and entertain while educating, a skill that has become a hallmark of his training style. Teaching at-risk teenagers taught Kirby how to turn challenging environments into opportunities for growth—a talent he carries into every presentation and coaching session.

In 1998, Kirby transitioned from the classroom to pursue his passion for entrepreneurship, founding Success Express. Initially a meeting planning company, Success Express expanded into a thriving business offering event planning, promotional products, awards, and decorated apparel. In 2001, Kirby returned to his teaching roots by creating professional development training solutions for companies and individuals. Today, Success Express Coaching & Consulting, alongside Success Express Awards & Marketing, provides tailored solutions for businesses, combining practical expertise with a deep understanding of organizational challenges.
